Distance Learning

"I have been incredibly supported in thinking about and otherwise preparing for sharing NVC by written and electronic materials, fellow LPers, and trainers taking personal interest in my teaching goals. "

Tele-classes        Individual Assignments & Feedback

Teleclasses

Starting in late January, we will begin offering our monthly teleclasses except during those months when we are together on retreat. Each teleclass lasts 1.5 hours. Teleclasses are offered through a conference calling bridge line. Unless you have special long distance calling plans, regular long distance calling charges apply to these calls.

Teleclasses will be scheduled at times that most participants can join; in the past few years, they have been scheduled for Sundays around 1p PST to accommodate most participants across the globe. Teleclasses will also be audio-taped, so that if participants are unable to join a particular teleclass, friendsthey will be able to listen to the recording later on online.

Our goals for these calls are the following:

  1. Learning on topics not covered at the retreats
  2. Continuity and connection between retreats
  3. Coaching and brain-storming on teaching experiences (for those already teaching NVC)

Individual explorations and feedback

We offer reading and journaling suggestions for each week of the program year, with the exception of retreat weeks. Journals can be engaged with in writing or with a buddy, or in other creative ways. These weekly suggestions can provide a powerful structure for ongoing engagement and growth between retreats.

A program leader or assistant will offer monthly feedback opportunities on journals to each participant, if wanted. Feedback opportunities tend to provide rich sources of support for learning, growth and integration.

Examples of topics for individual explorations include:

  • Self-assessment
  • Yearlong plan for the program and for leadership in NVC
  • Key differentiations – definitions and questions
  • Journaling
  • Keeping a training log
  • Giving each other written feedback

For a full list of journals see Reference Materials.
