Program Mission
To contribute to internal, interpersonal and social transformation by supporting emerging and existing NVC trainers’ capacity to:
- Understand NVC – to have clarity about NVC practices and the consciousness underlying these practices;
- Live NVC – to integrate NVC consciousness and skills in daily life; and
- Teach/share NVC – to have the skills, awareness and support needed to:
- Share NVC principles and practices with others
- Offer empathy and support to others learning NVC
- Coach others on their learning/integration of NVC principles and practices
- Model NVC consciousness in the learning/teaching process.
Our Intentions For The Program
- To model and live what we teach;
- To provide a structured, supportive environment for exploring the principles and deepening the practice of NVC and of teaching/sharing NVC;
- To nurture a community of NVC practitioners committed to leading and living based on NVC consciousness, and to encourage this community to continue to provide mutual support to each other beyond the program year.

“The BayNVC Leadership Program attracted me because I saw it was designed to get across what I love most about Nonviolent Communication -- that it is an inner as well as an outer practice. The program offers a balance of structure and flexibility, with effective skill-building and inspiring role modeling. When I first began the year of intensives, I had no idea I would end up teaching Nonviolent Communication. It all grew out of the support and confidence the program gave me to incorporate the spirit of NVC into my life and my work. My highest recommendations if you seek NVC training that is truly state of the art.”
